Healing my legs through the power of mushrooms, nature & radical self-belief.
The questions I get asked most often about my injury, my recovery, and the role mushrooms have played along the way.
I was in a car accident in November 2024 after we hit black ice. My partner Falak and I were asleep in the backseat without seatbelts on. Thankfully, everyone else was okay. ❤️
I’m a T5–T6 spinal cord injury — Complete ASIA A–B.
Right now, I’m experimenting with different mushroom strains by giving each one a month-long trial. I use raw dried mushrooms with a 4-days-on / 3-days-off intuitive dosing protocol, usually staying around 0.1g–0.25g.
If you’re looking for a safe, effective, and legitimate source for microdosing support, I recommend checking this out:
Early after my injury, I experienced some toe, knee, and leg movement following a clinical trial I participated in called ARC-EX around 3 months post-injury. Some of that movement has come and gone over time.
However, while microdosing psychedelic mushrooms, I’ve experienced being able to move my leg from bent to straight, and lock my leg out during an assisted stand with my partner Falak (pinned video on my page 😊).
Doctors and medical researchers are fascinated by the unexpected remarkable muscle and spasm activity I’m experiencing after microdosing subperceptual amounts of psychedelic mushrooms, because this type of motor response should not happen with my spinal cord injury.
Even more exciting, other paraplegics with severe injuries are reporting similar experiences — raising groundbreaking questions about psychedelic mushrooms and neuroplasticity, healing, and what may be possible for spinal cord recovery.
I’ve always felt tingling throughout my body, but over time I’ve started feeling more awareness in my muscles. When I try to activate certain muscles, I’ll feel a subtle tingling sensation increase in those areas.
Right now, I have some pressure sensation above my knees and slight sensation around my toes and feet. I feel like my lower back and glute muscles are returning into awareness, even though they don’t activate on command yet.
I can occasionally initiate light calf twitches on command, and I’m beginning to feel my hamstrings coming into awareness too. Every week, it feels like there’s more energy moving through my legs and core.
I truly believe mindset and balance are key here. The real secret sauce is to focus on presence instead of the past or future, and I remind myself daily that anything can happen. Trust in the mystery of life! I’ve learned the power is in community; people going through the same thing. And strengthening my sense of gratitude built my sense of trust and purpose. And practicing showing up consistently every moment.
Yes ❤️ I speak life over myself every day. I believe our thoughts, emotions, and nervous system are deeply connected. Some days are harder than others, but I try to consistently remind myself: my body is healing, my nerves are reconnecting, and I am the author of my story — and it’s just beginning.
